CANOPI OUTREACH | COSTA RICA JULY 2025
PASTORS CONFERENCE | COMAYAGUA HONDURAS SEPTEMBER 2025
Dear Friends and Ministry Partners,
If life has felt like it’s moving at warp speed for you, you’re not alone! The last three months have flown by, and frankly, life has moved faster than I could keep up with, which is why this update is coming to you now. I’ve been meaning to share all that the Lord has been doing, and I apologize for the delay!
As you’ll see in the slide gallery above, sometimes pictures speak louder than words when trying to capture the power of what God is doing. We’ve had incredible movement on both the ministry and personal fronts, and I’m so excited to finally share it with you!
Missions & Miracles: Costa Rica and Honduras
The summer kicked off in July with an amazing ministry trip to Costa Rica. We took a team of 25 people and taught them in a Socratic style about evangelism, prophetic words, healing, and deliverance ministries. We then immediately went out on the streets in Jaco and Quepos to put the teaching into practice. And guess what? The Lord showed up! He worked with us, and we saw salvations, baptisms, healings, and miracles.
One photo above shows our team at a waterfall. The only other people there were a French Canadian couple with a lot of tattoos. My dear friend Candi felt the Lord wanted us to talk to them, so my friend Evan and I approached them. I noticed the man’s tattoo: a grave with a cross engraved above it saying, “I’m not paying for my sins.”
I asked him what it meant to him. He shared that he is a gravedigger and knows he has done a lot of wrong, so the tattoo symbolized burying his sins to look toward a better future. When I asked about the cross, he explained it was just customary on a tombstone—he had no idea what it meant! We shared the gospel: Did you know you cannot bury your sins and make them go away? Did you know that Jesus paid for your sins on the cross and is the only one who can forgive you by His blood? We explained water baptism as joining Christ on the cross, being buried with Him, and rising into a new life as a child of God with the gift of the Holy Spirit. Their response was that of Agrippa, “Do you think that in such a short time you can persuade me to be a Christian?” (Acts 26:28) They didn’t choose to be baptized that day, but we were obedient, and we know we planted a good seed.
This was just one story of many, and it reminds me that we are not just called to do this in Costa Rica or Honduras, but right here in America. We must make ourselves available at all times to Jesus to seek the lost and bring Him to them, not just wait until they show up in our churches.
And let me say, it’s much better to do it with a Kingdom-minded team!
Just recently, the Canopi team went to Comayagua, Honduras, for the first time. The Lord is moving powerfully in the nations! In just three days, we offered back-to-back ministry and a marriage conference, and joined the church in worship on Sunday. Again, we saw salvation and healing—a young lady’s spine bent from scoliosis was shockingly snapped back straight after we prayed for her. It was absolutely amazing!
Personal Life: Big Moves!
Right after our Costa Rica trip, I went to celebrate my brother Abraham’s bachelor party for a week at Glacier National Park, Montana. Directly after that, it was time to pack up our little apartment in Oceanside!
We successfully moved to Fort Worth, Texas! Thanks to my dad for helping, we were able to drive out our Tahoe with a trailer, and Sarah’s Prius, in a three-day drive. We are finally starting to settle into our new home here in Fort Worth.
What’s Next
I am offering these pictures for you to see the evidence of God’s work. It’s hard to capture all of this in a few words, and I realize I need to write more often so I don’t get backlogged with all that the Lord is doing!
Thank you so much for your faithful support. Your giving makes it possible for us to share the good news and see the Lord move in power!
If you are inspired by what you read, may I ask that you please put this on your calendar: Our next outreach mission trip to Costa Rica is tentatively scheduled for the 3rd week in June 2026. Please pray about it, and if the Lord puts it on your heart, put it in asterisks on your calendar! Let me know if you’re interested in joining us, and we will get you more information as the date approaches!
Grace and Shalom Peace in Jesus’s Name be multiplied to you,
Mitch Marmelstein
